Singapore National Commission for UNESCO
Welcome to the Singapore National Commission for UNESCO!
Having rejoined UNESCO in October 2007, Singapore is happy to be part of the UNESCO community and look forward to working with UNESCO and its Member States in areas of common interest. We see UNESCO as an important platform for sharing and learning among countries to benefit from each other’s expertise and experiences.
The establishment of the Singapore National Commission for UNESCO is an important milestone for Singapore. It signals our commitment to work towards UNESCO’s goals of peace and sustainable human development through the promotion of collaborations in education, science, culture and information. The three Sub-Commissions on Education, Science, Culture and Information will plan and coordinate programmes and activities to help raise the awareness and promote cooperation in their respective areas within the local community and those in other UNESCO Member States.
We invite you to participate in the activities we have planned, and look forward to your support of the Singapore National Commission for UNESCO.
Thank you.
Mr Lawrence Wong
Minister of State for Defence and Education
Chairman, Singapore National Commission for UNESCO
